Using the editable worksheets
These CSV files open in a spreadsheet editor. They contain input fields only; they do not include formulas or automatically calculate outputs. Examples below are hypothetical, not quotes, benchmarks or client results. No macros, external connections or customer records.
Total-cost worksheet
Enter the same planning period and scope for each proposal. Leave unknown amounts blank. Enter zero only when the cost is confirmed included or not applicable. A known-cost subtotal is not the total if anything is missing. Set known_costs_complete to YES only after each component is checked.
Recurring monthly cost = management + media + usage + hosting + other tools.
First-month cash outlay = recurring monthly cost + setup, only if setup is paid in that month. Plan total = recurring monthly cost × months + one-time setup. If rates or usage vary, use a dated monthly schedule instead of multiplying a constant. Include applicable taxes or other excluded charges in a separate row and revise the total; this simplified worksheet assumes no additional charges. Record internal staff hours separately; do not silently price them as zero.
The article's example uses $2,000 + $1,500 + $100 + $0 + $0 = $3,600 monthly. Setup of $500 makes first-month cost $4,100 and twelve-month cost $43,700. Zeros are explicit assumptions, not blank values converted to zero. Rize's actual proposed scope and prices require their own approved terms.
Lead-economics worksheet
Choose an intake cohort: distinct requests first received within the start/end dates. Follow that same group through an outcome cutoff. Pending is a count of distinct inquiries still unresolved at cutoff; it is not another stage to add to wins or estimates. Track spam/duplicates and activities separately. Do not drop paid unsuitable inquiries from spend.
Assigned source cost = lead fees + media + allocated management + usage + other source costs − received credits. Costs must correspond to the stated source/cohort and allocation method. Deduct issued-but-unreceived credits only after defining and disclosing a different accounting method. Do not subtract one credit twice or assign a shared fee in full to every channel.
Cost per inquiry = assigned source cost ÷ distinct inquiries. Cost per won job = assigned source cost ÷ won jobs. Qualified-to-win rate = won jobs ÷ qualified opportunities only when wins are from that qualified set. The simplified template assumes sequential stages; a referral that skips a stage needs its own documented rule rather than a forced count.
No wins: “no won jobs; cost per win undefined.” Unknown wins/cost: UNKNOWN. No inquiries: “no inquiries; cost per inquiry undefined.” Negative costs or impossible sequential counts require review; a known zero numerator with a positive denominator can produce a real zero. Missing is never zero. Blank outcome fields are not evidence of losses.
Example A: $2,000 lead fees + $300 allocated management + $100 usage = $2,400. With 40 inquiries and 6 wins, cost per inquiry is $60 and cost per win is $400. Example B: $2,000 media + $1,000 allocated management + $200 usage = $3,200. With 32 inquiries and 8 wins, the corresponding costs are $100 and $400. All other example cost fields are explicitly zero. The two labels do not represent actual supplier/channel performance.
For job economics, use a separate record of the same completed-and-paid jobs with realized revenue and delivery cost. Revenue minus defined delivery costs minus matching marketing cost is a limited contribution measure, not net profit when overhead/tax/financing or other costs are excluded. Never subtract source cost for one cohort from another group's revenue without disclosing the mismatch. Organic investment has a longer benefit window; this worksheet is not a causal ROI model.
